Oklahoma Lawmaker Takes International Energy Leadership Role
Rep. Nick Archer, R-Elk City, has been elected vice chair of The Energy Council, an international nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing energy policy. The announcement came during the Council’s annual meeting in Anchorage, Alaska.
Nick Archer will serve as vice chair until stepping into the chairmanship during the 2026-2027 term.
Nick Archer: “Oklahoma Has Long Been a Leader in Powering Our Nation”
“I’m honored to serve as vice chair of The Energy Council,” Archer said. “Oklahoma has long been a leader in powering our nation, and energy remains a top industry in our state. I look forward to working with colleagues from across the country and beyond to promote an energy infrastructure that strengthens our economy, ensures reliability and secures America’s energy future.”
Archer has been a member of the Council since 2021 and joined the Executive Committee earlier this year. His election marks a significant step for Oklahoma representation in energy policy discussions across North America and beyond.
Energy Leadership at Home and Abroad
In addition to his new role, Archer chairs the House Energy Committee and serves on the House Energy and Natural Resources Oversight Committee in the Oklahoma Legislature. He has represented House District 55 since 2022, covering western Oklahoma communities.
Before serving in the statehouse, Archer was mayor of Elk City, giving him both local and state-level leadership experience.
